The TFT700S is a 7-inch color TFT-LCD display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. When configured for parallel communication (TFT700S-PAR), it receives status and position signals directly from the control panel via dedicated electrical inputs.
1. Electrical Specifications and Polarity Management
The display requires a power supply of .
In parallel mode, the correct interpretation of input signals relies on setting the correct logical polarity via the menu, which must match the electrical polarity supplied by the control board:
• Menu 4 Options / 4.4 Polarità (Polarity): This submenu manages the logical polarity setting.
◦ 4.4.1 Polarità ingressi (Input Polarity): Must be set to Negativa (Negative) if the inputs are activated by grounding (GND), or Positiva (Positive) if activated by +Vdc.
◦ 4.4.2 Polarità frecce (Arrow Polarity): Allows the same selection for the arrow inputs.
2. Selection of the Operating Mode (Menu 1.2)
The Working Mode (Menù 1.2: IMPOSTA MODO) dictates the coding format the display uses to decode the car's position from the parallel input signals.
Display Mode | Description | Max No. of Floors (Default Range) | Source |
1 WIRE | One Pole per Floor (each input corresponds to a floor) | 8 (0, 7)
BINARY | Binary encoding (using inputs 1-6) | 64 (0, 63)
INVERTED BINARY | Inverted Binary encoding (using inputs 1-6) | 64 (0, 63)
GRAY | GRAY encoding (using inputs 1-6) | 64 (0, 63)
BCD | BCD encoding (using inputs 1-6) | 29 (-9, 19)
7 SEGMENTS | Seven Segments (each input corresponds to a segment) | -9, 29
STAND ALONE (AO/AC) | Autonomous mode with magnetic sensors | N/A
DEMO | Simulation mode | N/A |
3. Addressing and Functional Role (Menu 1.3)
The Menù 1.3: INDIRIZZO (Address) defines the operational role of the display (Car or Floor) within the system. This role determines whether features like vocal announcement and standard direction arrows are enabled.
Installation Role | Numeric Address Range | Primary Functionality | Source |
CABINA (Car) | 0 – 8 | Enables Vocal Synthesis of the Floor (Sintesi Vocale) and displays Normal Direction Arrows (direction of travel).
PIANO (Floor) | 0 – 32 | If the address is , it displays Next Direction Arrows; Vocal Synthesis is typically not performed. |
4. System Synchronization and Optimization
Lowest Floor Setting (Menu 2.1)
To synchronize the numerical sequence displayed with the physical installation, set the lowest floor value in the Menù 2.1: PIANO PIU’ BASSO (Lowest Floor). This value acts as the offset, and all subsequent floors are calculated automatically from this point.
Debounce for Input Stabilization (Menu 4.2)
In high-speed or noisy environments (especially in coded modes like Binary or BCD), the input signal may be unstable. The Menù 4.2: Debounce ingressi (Input Debounce) allows adjustment of the reading delay (in milliseconds) to stabilize the signal and prevent momentary erroneous floor indications.
Display Standby (Menu 5.4)
To enable power saving mode (black screen) after a period of inactivity, configure the duration in Menù 5.4: STANDBY. The available range goes up to 180 minutes.
5. Project Customization and Media Management
Graphic and Audio Personalization
The design (layout, fonts, icons, vocal messages, and background images) of the TFT700S is customized using the dedicated PC software, Sirio Editor. The target device must be selected as TFT70x 7” within the editor.
Project Export
The customized project is exported from the editor's page "3. Esporta sulla SD-CARD" onto a memory device (USB stick or Micro SD card).
Note on Multimedia: If the project includes background music or a second language for vocal synthesis, the export must be done via a Micro SD card, and the card must remain inserted in the display after import. The export process allows selecting up to 10 different projects on a Micro SD.
Frecce (Arrow) Configuration
The appearance and timing of the arrows can be fine-tuned in Menù 4.3 Imposta frecce (Set Arrows):
• Velocità freccia circolare (Circular Arrow Speed): This sets the duration of the 360-degree rotation animation. A value of '1' corresponds to 10 seconds, while '10' corresponds to 1 second; '0' disables the circular arrow.
• Alternanza (Alternation): If the floor number and the direction arrow occupy the same space on the screen, the display can alternate between them using Menù 4.5 Alternanza.
The ability of the display to receive and correctly interpret status changes, like an Alarm Active (AA) or Alarm Received (AR), ensures comprehensive signaling beyond just the current position.
